Questions

Residential cleaning: your questions answered

How often should I have my house cleaned?
Every other week is the most common choice, and it suits most homes that are lived in normally. Weekly makes sense for busy households, homes with children or pets, or anywhere that simply gets more use. Monthly works if the house stays reasonably tidy between visits. We are happy to advise once we have seen the place.
What is included in a standard clean?
Kitchens and bathrooms cleaned and sanitized, floors vacuumed and mopped, surfaces and visible dust dealt with, beds made, bins emptied, and the living areas and bedrooms put in order. Anything beyond that — inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, interior windows, laundry — is a deep clean or an add-on, and we will tell you plainly which is which.
Do I need to be home while you clean?
No. Many of our clients are not, particularly seasonal residents. We are happy to work with a key, a code or a caretaker, and we will always agree access arrangements with you in advance. If you would rather be there, that is equally fine.
Do you bring your own cleaning supplies?
Yes — products and equipment are all included. If you would prefer eco-friendly or non-toxic products, or you have specific products you want used on particular surfaces such as stone, hardwood or antique timber, just say and we will use them.
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes, fully. Insurance covers damage or injury; bonding protects you financially in the event of theft. Every member of our team is background-checked as well. You are letting people into your home, and you should never simply have to hope for the best.
Will I get the same cleaners each visit?
Wherever we possibly can, yes. Consistency matters — a team that already knows your home, its quirks and your preferences does a better job than a rota of strangers, and it is a large part of why people stay with a family-run company.
Do you clean homes with pets?
Yes, all the time. Pet hair and dander need proper vacuuming with real filtration and attention to soft furnishings, baseboards and the corners where hair actually collects. Do tell us what animals are in the house so we can plan around them and keep them safe and settled.
How much does residential cleaning cost?
It depends on the size and condition of your home and how often you would like us. Rather than publish a figure that would be wrong for most people, we will come and look and give you a firm quote at no charge. You can read more about how our pricing works on our pricing page.
